Spring In Italy (Holidays and Relax)

In May (spring in Sicily, Tuscany, Apulia or Sardinia for your holidays),

In Particular you can visit Sicily:
Greek Temple in Spring, Agrigento, Taormina, Syracuse, in one word Sicily.

We advise some (Sicily) itineraries:

Sicily’s diverse heritage is reflected in an abundance of monuments scattered across the island – sites that, at the time of our visit, are typically bedecked with dazzling displays of wild flowers. Our tour, starting in Palermo and travelling via Caltanissetta and Taormina to Syracuse, will give participants a profound understanding of the beguiling array of cultures that Sicily has absorbed over the centuries.

The temples of Agrigento, standing sentinel along the ridge of Olympian Zeus, and the awe-inspiring drummed columns of Selinunte, felled by earthquake, dramatically reveal the wealth, power and prestige of the Greek cities of Sicily. And at Piazza Armerina the Villa Imperiale contains some of the finest Roman mosaics in existence, remarkable depictions of hunters and hunted, mythological figures and myriad sporting events.

At Palermo, Cefalu and Monreale the Normans, who conquered Sicily at the same time as securing England, fused Islamic, Byzantine and Western Romanesque traditions in a unique group of monuments distinguished, above all, by their Byzantine mosaics. We will also discover wonderful hill-top towns such as Erice, a stunningly situated mediaeval settlement overlooking Trapani.

In Palermo we stay in the heart of the town at the four-star Centrale Palace; in Caltanissetta at Hotel San Michele with fine mountain views; in Taormina at the beautifully situated and stylish Sant’ Andrea; and in Syracuse at the Grand Hotel on the waterfront in the delightful old quarter of Ortygia.

For added variety some dinners in Palermo and Syracuse will be at local restaurants, with wine included.
